Imagine sailing on a tall ship to work with disadvantaged adolescents, or working with homeless children in Mongolia , or even with refugees in Australia . These are examples of new and emerging areas for occupational therapists. Occupational therapists work with individuals, groups and communities to promote health and wellbeing in the workplace. They analyse occupations and work environments and how these affect the way individuals or communities can participate in society. There are an unlimited number of places where occupational therapists can find work.

At ECU, the occupational therapy course focuses on developing graduates for careers in a wide range of settings which could involve working with people from childhood through to old age. So if you're looking for a challenging career that makes a difference to people's lives, then occupational therapy might be the career choice for you.

For more information about the Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) course at ECU, contact Di Schwagermann on (08) 6304 5448, e-mail publichealth@ecu.edu.au, visit http://www.chs.ecu.edu.au/org/sebhs or come along to our free Careers Night on Tuesday 6 September at our Joondalup Campus.
