| ECU graduate, Adam Beard knows what it takes to secure a career in the competitive sports industry. As a senior strength - conditioning coach who works with Olympic athletes on a daily basis for the English Institute of Sport in the UK, he is challenged everyday.
Drawing on the expert guidance given to him during his studies by ECU staff, including course coordinator Dr Angus Burnett and Foundation Professor of Exercise and Sports Science, Professor Robert Newton, Adam says his job is an exciting one that allows him to travel the world. He has been to Athens for the 2004 Olympic Games and is also the Director of quality assurance with the UK Strength & Conditioning Association.
Adam completed his honours after a sports science degree at ECU and also chose to complete his postgraduate studies at ECU.
“Although the great facilites at Joondalup Campus were a factor in my choice, the main reason for studying both an honours and masters degree at ECU was the experienced staff who ensured my skills were developed above others in the field”
“The whole department was very supportive with world renowned sports scientists in the field of strength and conditioning research, which has helped me get to where I am today.” |
