Indigenous Entry Pathways

In addition to the standard admission pathways, Australian Indigenous peoples can enter Edith Cowan University using two specialised entry pathways.

Indigenous Student Intake Test (ISIT)

The Indigenous Student Intake Test can be used as an entry pathway by Indigenous peoples to fulfil minimum admission requirements into undergraduate ECU courses.

ISIT comprises of a supervised test and an interview. The test content and its environment are designed to remove the myths associated with mainstream studies and create a non confronting experience for the applicant.

Applicants must receive a passing grade of 60% for the Indigenous Student Intake Test (ISIT) to be eligible to enter. Applicants who receive a score less that 60% in the ISIT will be directed to apply for the Indigenous University Orientation Course (IUOC) or a vocational general education course.

You are eligible to enter the IUOC if you have fulfilled one of the following criteria in the last three years:

If you do not meet the above criteria, you can complete the IUOC Application Process to be considered for the course. To gain entry through IUOC Application Process, you must write a two-page assessable statement outlining why you want to study at university.
